Choose a playlist or published layout
Switch playback sources and prepare layout changes without confusing drafts with live output.
Choose the source for the screen
Use What to show in the collection overview to choose media, a playlist, or a layout. The selected source controls playback.
Preparing a collection’s Content pool or editing an inactive layout does not automatically replace the current source.
Play a playlist
Prepare the playlist
Make sure the playlist is available to the collection’s workspace and contains ready media.
Open What to show
Choose the playlist option and select the intended playlist.
Select Play playlist
Confirm the source and inspect the playback preview and actual display.
Play a published layout
Prepare the screen design
Open Layout to choose or create the design, arrange its areas, and add the intended content.
Publish the intended version
Check the layout’s published version. A saved draft is not the same as the version available for playback.
Select the layout source
In What to show, choose the published layout and select Play layout.
Check the output
Review orientation, text, media areas, and any managed content on the actual display.
Prepare a layout while another source plays
If the collection is using media or a playlist, the Layout page can show Layout not active. You can prepare an assigned layout without changing the active source.
Use Edit layout for an existing design, or Choose a layout when none is assigned. Return to the overview and explicitly select the layout source when ready.
Layouts and photo frames have different roles
A layout arranges the whole screen into areas. A photo frame brands individual photos. Applying a photo frame does not select a screen layout or switch its playback source.
For guest-photo framing within an event, follow the Event Collection frame guide.
